Frequently asked questions
When can I expect the Annual Report to be available?
Each year we make Annual Reports available by 30 September. We will notify you and your clients via email. It is important that your client’s email addresses and contact details with us are kept up to date so that they will receive these notifications.
Why can’t I receive my Annual Report earlier than the end of September?
We want to provide you with the most accurate Summary and detailed tax information as part of your Annual Report. To do so, we allow product issuers of managed funds until the end of September to provide us with the necessary tax information which we rely on when generating your report.
What if a product issuer does not provide you with the tax information by the end of September?
Every year there will be some product issuers that do not provide us with their tax information by the end of September. If we receive tax information from them we will reissue your Annual Report using the updated tax component information up until 31 October. For this reason, your clients should seek advice from a qualified accountant on how this may impact them and the lodgement of their tax return.Â
If you reissue my Annual Report, will I see multiple versions of the report online?
You will see one set (PDF and Excel version) of the 2024 Annual Report online. If we reissue your Annual Report due to updated tax information that we have received in October, we will remove any prior versions of your Annual Report from online to avoid confusion.
Where can I see the product issuers that have not provided updated tax information?
Managed funds for which we have yet to receive the relevant tax information by the time we issue your Annual Report are listed in the appendices in the PDF version of the Annual Report.
You can also access the link below which we will update on a weekly basis as we receive tax information from the relevant product issuers.
When will Mason Stevens send the pre-fill data to the ATO for my clients?
Mason Stevens is required to send the data to the ATO by 31 October, in its Annual Investment Income Report (AIIR) filing. The timing means that we will include updated information from a fund which has reported tax component breakdowns after generating your client’s annual report at the end of September, to be included in the filing to the ATO.
